I can't close the rental!

To end the rental of a VAIMOO vehicle be sure of having followed all the correct steps as reported in this Video Tutorial. Please remember that you can end the rental only inside the stations signalled by dedicated horizontal and vertical signals (white lines and a pole).

⚠⚠ WARNING⚠⚠

In some sporadic cases, despite following the correct procedure, it may be impossible to close a rental, due to problems with low GPS signal reception, data connection or malfunctions.

Don’t worry:

  • write an email immediately to support.bari@vaimoo.app specifying the NUMBER OF THE BIKE in question;
  • you will be exonerated from responsibility for the vehicle and we will refund your ride upon verification of the incident.

How to end the rental?

To end the rental of a VAIMOO vehicle, follow these steps:

Note: it is possible to end the rental only in a VAIMOO station area identified by dedicated roadmarks and poles.

  • In the App, tap on “End Ride”;
  • If you’re renting an e-bike, the vehicle’s led lights will turn yellow and start blink. This means that you can now close the lock; Alternatively, if you’re renting a regular bike, you can close the lock right after having tapped on “End Ride”;
  • Do not lock your phone and follow the instructions in App to correctly end the rental;
  • Lower the lever lock*and wait for the acoustic signal confirming that the lock has been closed correctly;
  • The billing interrupts as soon as you complete all these steps and you will receive a confirmation e-mail for the ending of the rental with an invoice attached.

How can I contact customer support?

The most effective way to contact VAIMOO support is through the mobile app.  Please follow the instructions below:

  1. From the side menu open “REPORT ISSUE”
  2. Select the category of the issue
  3. Complete the tab
  4. Press “SEND”

Once your ticket is received, we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Moreover, it is possible to contact our operators by phone at the number +39 080 9268201 in the following hours/days: 

  • from Monday to Friday: from 9 am to 11 am and from 3 pm to 5 pm
  • Saturday and Sunday: from 9 am to 1 pm and from 2 pm to 6 pm

How much does the service cost?

In order to use the Bari Bike Sharing service it is mandatory to purchase via App one of the available BikePass (passes are subscriptions  activated immediately including only the unlock of the vehicle).

Moreover, for every use of the bikes a specific pricing will be applied.

The following are the available BikePass:

  • BikePass 24h: daily pass, price 1.80€
  • BikePass Week: weekly pass, price 4.80€
  • BikePass Month: monthly pass, lasting 30 days starting from the purchase, price 8.80€
  • BikePass Year: yearly pass, lasting a year from the purchase, price 24.50€

The following pricing applies to the rental of the vehicles, and it varies from e-bikes and traditional bikes:

Traditional bikes:

  • First half-hour fare: 0.00€;
  • Second half-hour fare: 0.45€;
  • Third half-hour fare: 0.45€;
  • Fourth half-hour fare: 0.45€;
  • Fifth half-hour fare: 0.45€;
  • Sixth half-hour fare: 0.45€;
  • Fare for each hour after the sixth half-hour: 2.80€.

Electric bikes:

  • First half-hour rate: 0.50€;
  • Second half-hour fare: 0.45€;
  • Third half-hour fare: 0.45€;
  • Fourth half-hour fare: 0.90€;
  • Fifth half-hour fare: 0.90€;
  • Sixth half-hour fare: 1.40€;
  • Fare for each hour after the sixth half-hour: 2.80€.

All the information are available in the Profile Info area in the App, under the section “My Subcription”.

Which are the service hours?

The service will be active in the following hours:
Mon. – Fry.: 6:30 am – 10.30 pm
Week-end and Holidays: 6:30 am – 02.00 am.

How can I rent a bike?

To start the rental and unlock a VAIMOO vehicle you must have a VAIMOO account which can be created directly in the App.

After logging into the App:

  • From the map you can locate the nearest VAIMOO station;

            Please note: you can only rent VAIMOO vehicles at stations within a 5-minute walking distance.

When you have arrived at the station, to start renting a VAIMOO vehicle:

  • You can tap on the station icon and you will see information regarding the vehicles contained in that station;
  • Within a station you will be able to find two different categories of VAIMOO vehicles: electric bicycle, traditional bicycle.
  • Select the vehicle you prefer or scan the QR code on the vehicle itself and tap on the “Start Ride” button in order to unlock the VAIMOO vehicle of your choice.
  • At the station wait for the lock to unlock automatically. Also follow the instructions shown in the App to verify that the lock has been unlocked correctly. Do not lock the phone to ensure that the procedure is successful.
  • The App shows you that you have successfully unlocked the vehicle and you will see the map with the current rental duration.

Which are the available payment methods?


Add a payment method to start using the VAIMOO rental service.

Below are the different payment methods accepted:

  • Credit or debit card;
  • ApplePay (for iOS users only);
  • GooglePay (for Android users only).

In the App you can browse the available payment methods and configure one:

  1. Within the App, open the menu by tapping the icon in the top left corner;
  2. Tap the “Profile Information” item;
  3. Tap the “Payment Methods” item;
  4. Choose the desired payment method and enter the required information;
  5. When finished, tap the “Setup” button to complete the configuration. You may be charged a lump sum at this stage to verify the payment method you have chosen, which will either be returned to you at the end of the first ride or reversed from the cost itself.
  6. The payment screen in the app will update with the new payment method configured.

You can always change your payment method using the procedure just described.

Is the VAIMOO Bike Sharing App free?

Sure. The App download is free and available of Google Play Store and Apple Store, while the purchase of a BikePass in App is mandatory to start a ride and use the service.

How can I create my account from the VAIMOO App?

Within the App, you can use several ways to create a VAIMOO account:

  • Apple ID (for iOS users only);
  • Google ID (for Android users only);
  • Social Network: Facebook;
  • E-mail: in order to verify your identity, and increase the security of the data you enter, you will receive an e-mail to the address provided to confirm the creation of the account.

What is exactly VAIMOO?

VAIMOO is the connected Bike Sharing system of Bari.

The system uses parking stations, signalled by vertical signs (a pole with the bike icon) and roadmarks (white horizontal signs with the service icon).

The stations and the available bikes are visible from the map in the smartphone App.

How can I distinguish the Tradtional Bikes from the Electric Bikes?

Eletric bikes are black with coloured stickers, while the traditional ones have different colours: black frame and salmon red fenders as shown in the image below:
